My first impression of Dr. Kelly
was that he was very approachable.
I have struggled with my
weight most of my life and it got more and more out of control until I reached
my highest weight of 405 (BMI of 69.7). I had thought about WLS for
several years but mainly due to financial reasons had been unable to have
anything done. I then started searching alternative options and discovered
that many Americans were traveling to Mexico to have WLS and having great
success. After speaking with different staff members within Dr. Kelly’s
practice I decided that this was my best hope for a healthier and happier life.
Before my surgery, I lost
20 pounds and my pre-surgical weight was 385 with a BMI of 66.2. On March
30, 2007 I had my Vertical Sleeve Gastrectomy (VSG) and it was the best decision
I ever made. I have had excellent results so far losing over 100 pounds
(and counting) in less than 5 months. I had my surgery at the Hospital
Oasis and was treated very well by the physicians and hospital staff and had
excellent care the entire time I was there. My husband was allowed to stay
in the room with me throughout my hospitalization which helped both with
reducing my stress and giving me that extra support.
Dr. Kelly and his staff
were excellent and answered all of our questions both before and after my
surgery. If I have ever had any questions or problems I have always been
able to speak to someone in the office who either will answer the question
themselves or get an answer to me as quickly as possible. Everyone there
seemed genuinely interested and concerned in my welfare and success after the
surgery and periodically calls to check on my progress. My experiences
were great and have nothing but positive things to say about Dr. Kelly, his
staff and the new life I’ve been given.
