My sister Vicki
from AZ. had a Lap-Band the first part of Oct.
Ever since then that is all we talk about. She
was to get her first fill in Dec. and she talked
me and my husband into me getting the Lap-Band.
Mainly my husband, cause I wanted right away. So
Dec. 21st. we left Az. where Vicki teaches
school and headed for Mexico.................

Hello my
name is Stephanie Cabrera, I am 38 years old; I
have been overweight since I was 17 years old,
my weight before I had the Lap Band was of 337
lb and my BMI 56.1; I started my search for a
doctor here in Colorado but here in US it’s too
expensive to have this kind of surgery; I have
one friend who recommended me to look in Mexico
since her daughter had the Lap Band down there.

I had Gastric Band
HELIOGAST surgery past December 3, 2005 with WLS
Clinic team in the San Francisco Hospital. I
decided to go for bariatric surgery because I
have Morbid Obesity since 1986 and all I have
tried to lose weight it failed and the Morbid
Obesity that I have brought to me some
co-morbidities like hypertension, sleep apnea,
diabetes II and problems with my spine. Before I

I started with overweight
at the age of 10 years old, this was caused by
not eating well, I ate fries and candies every
day, plus I didn’t make any exercise. There was
like 6 or 7 years that I didn’t care about what
I ate until I realized the damage that this was
making to my body and my person. I started to
make every kind of diets that would work at the
moment but I couldn’t keep that weight off.
