I have been overweight since I had my kids. They are grown now so I can't say that this is "baby-fat". I am 45. Kids are 24 and 26. I have been struggling with my weight for most of my 27 yr. marriage.
I have tried: fade diets, shakes, always tried the latest pills and potions, weight-watchers (a few times), Joined a gym (5 times) I even used weight loss drugs that were Dr. Monitored (and quite expensive)
But still, the weight kept creeping up.

I am an obsessive eater. I sometimes can't figure out what it is that I want to eat, so I keep eating bites until I find what I was looking for. SCARY ............ I can't read my own body to know when to eat or when to stop eating. I mostly eat until I feel really uncomfortable. I know this is all MY FAULT. I have got to get a grip...

My sister had the lap-band and she's been doing awesome. She is at goal !
I have decided that the VSG is for me. At first, I wasn't sure. I have researched this and talked with a few people and I think that this fits my lifestyle much better.  I am having surgery on 9/18/08 . My BMI is 34, so I don't qualify for insurance. I am private paying and I am going to Tijuana MX.
My surgeon is Dr. Kelly. You can take a look at the facilities on www.youtube.com by typing in "gastric sleeve" and look for Tijuana MX.  I am extremely confident with my choice. I hope to make lots of new friends on the OH forum.
