- I traveled
from Tucson, AZ on Sunday April 5, 2009 and arrived at the border
station parking lot in San Ysidro, CA. The Lias tour van arrived very
promptly to pick us up and transport us (my husband and myself) to the
INT Hospital in Tijuana. This was a very pleasant and quick trip.
- First we
actually arrived at Hospital Angeles and met up with Gabby Vargas, my
patient care coordinator, who brought us to meet with Dr. Ramos Kelly to
review my records and to answer my further questions we had thought of
since my phone consultation with Dr. Ramos Kelly a few weeks before.
- Then Gabby
took us to the INT Hospital and she got us registered there and settled
in. The next day, as my surgery was not scheduled until 6:00 pm Gabby
took me around tour to have all my preoperative tests done as well as a
tour of Tijuana-sightseeing. I cannot express well enough how excellent
our stay here was and how excellent the nursing care and received has
been.
- The staff
is extremely caring and attentive. Everyone here knows enough English
that even though my husband and I know very little Spanish we had no
trouble with communication. Unlike the U.S., here in Tijuana I never had
to wait or ask for medications or bandage care after surgery.
- The nurses
here are extremely efficient. Also, the Hospital here is cleaner than
any U.S. Hospital I have ever been in the rooms are mopped at least two
times a day and sometimes three. After my stay in the Hospital was done,
it was time to go to the Hotel and Gabby came and took us there and got
us settled, in she called to check on me several times a day, and Dr.
Ramos Kelly came the second day to remove my drain which, to my
surprise, was a completely painless experience!
- Dr. Ramos
Kelly came many times to the Hospital to check on me and ever brought
his young son to meet us. This was great as I have missed my sons very
much while here. I was very nice to see such a cute little guy!
- When our
time to go home had come, again the Lias tours van arrived very promptly
to take us back to the parking lot where we had left our car in San
Ysidro, CA. This was an excellent experience from start to finish and I
would not hesitate to recommend WLSC Weight Loss Surgery Clinic and Dr.
Ramos Kelly to anyone needing or wanting to have surgery.
- I also
think there is a much higher standard of patient care in Tijuana than
what I have ever experienced in the U.S.
