Mini Gastric Bypass Surgery
Mini gastric bypass, or loop gastric bypass, is one surgery for morbid obesity. It requires less time than other bariatric surgeries–about 40 minutes to an hour–prevents large scars and is performed laparoscopically. Because it is a major procedure, anyone considering a mini gastric bypass should carefully consider its potential complications. These complications may include leakage or infections, blood clots in the lungs (pulmonary embolisms), pneumonia, bowel obstruction, and nutritional deficiencies.
Leakage or infections

Leakage in the connection between the stomach and intestines is one of the most common complications. In the short term, leakage will cause severe discomfort. If left untreated, it may cause hernias or ulcers. Infections at the site of infection are also common. As with leakage, infections require the attention of medical professionals and may require additional surgery.
